Debra Ann Thomas, 65, of Pemberton Township, NJ passed away on March 30th, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing.

Debra was born on April 20th, 1957 to Rose and Charles Thomas in Staten Island, NY. After graduating from St. Peter’s High School for Girls in 1975, she moved to South Plainfield, NJ to raise seven children and eventually work for the South Plainfield Board of Education. Some of her favorite memories from those years were busing her children and their friends to and from sporting and music events. After her retirement from South Plainfield in 2015, Debra moved to Pemberton Township in 2019 while continuing to work in busing for seniors. In addition to her profession and raising her children, Debra volunteered a lot of her time with many animal rescue and adoption organizations. She also enjoyed spending much of her free time crocheting for her church group, Knit n Kneel.

Debra is predeceased by her parents, Rose and Charles Thomas, and sons, Thomas, and Patrick McCullen. She is survived by her children, Paul McCullen Jr., Samantha Morris, Carl McCullen, Krystal Hoffman, Kathleen Loelius, and Mark McCullen; her grandchildren, Kyleigh, Declan, Landon, and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her brother Richard (Joan) Thomas and best friend Cookie Figler, along with many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Debra’s life will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1500 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ, on April 22, 2023, at 11 AM.
