Obituary of Zach Dobrowski
Fuquay-Varina, NC – Zachary Alan Dobrowski, 35, died at Wake Medical Center in Cary, NC on April 16, 2023 after a brief illness. Zach was raised in Piscataway, was a 2006 graduate of Union Catholic High School and most recently, moved to North Carolina in 2022.
Zachary was born in Kentucky, and adopted by Elaine and Bill Dobrowski as an infant. He was a beautiful child, exuberant and full of life, deeply cherished, and interested in everything. He grew up in Piscataway, joyful when his sister, Christianna, joined the family 5 years later. Zach discovered a love for animals, horses in particular, early in life. He began doing lead line pony rides for Washington Stables when he was only 10 or so, and trail rides shortly after. A friend began mentoring him about the care and training of horses, and his passion was set for life.
He began working in the staffing industry as a teenager, helping his dad, and acquired skills and expertise in human resources. He also attended cosmetology school where he earned his license and spent a brief time working as a hair stylist. Soon after, he returned to the HR field and worked as a Human Resource Manager for Educational Dynamics for 5 years.
Zach and Dan met in 2019 and married a year later. They were very happy together. They moved to North Carolina to pursue a shared dream of having a small farm where they planned to raise horses and other farm animals.
He was a big-hearted, passionate person, who was fiercely loyal to the people he loved, and had a sharp wit. He loved to laugh and made everyone around him smile.
Predeceased by his father William, Zach leaves behind his husband Daniel, mother Elaine Kopreski, sister Christianna Morris, her husband Peter and their son Channing. He will be missed dearly by all, including his four-legged family; dogs - Frankie and Luna, and cats - Elwood, Flynn and Salem.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 1pm until 4pm. A prayer service and words of remembrance will be held beginning 3pm.
On Monday, April 24, 2023, family and friends are invited to gather to the funeral home beginning 10:00am and a brief concluding service will be held at 10:30am. Mausoleum entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
