Obituary of Mary Ellen McCriskin - Brumbaugh
Mary Ellen McCriskin - Brumbaugh, 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge.
Born in Plainfield, Mary Ellen grew up in South Plainfield and resided in the greater jersey shore area for several years.
She worked for the former Pathmark Supermarkets for several years and also held various other jobs to help provide for her family prior to exiting the workforce.
To those who knew Mary Ellen, knew she had a vibrant personality and beat to her own drum. She was a tough cookie with a huge heart and was a loving mother as well as an amazing grandmother.
She is predeceased by her parents, Patricia J. and William R. McCriskin and is survived by her children, Melissa Ashmead, Christine Marin and her husband Chris all of North Brunswick and Steven Ashmead of Jackson; brothers, Richard W. McCriskin and his wife Dee of Estero, Fl., Dr. James W. McCriskin and his wife Nancy of Southport, NC and William C. McCriskin and his wife Patricia of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Destiny, Christopher Jr. and Luis Ashmead and her 1st husband Robert Ashmead of North Brunswick. Also surviving are two nieces and two nephews and a dear family friend, Jessica Zarate.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 beginning at 3pm followed by a 5:30pm funeral service in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Cremation Services will take place privately.
Mary Ellen’s cremated remains will be placed to rest privately at in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
