Obituary of Loraine A. Reichert

Loraine Augusta (Colson) Reichert, 92, passed away peacefully at Bridgeway Assisted Living in Hillsborough on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Born in the Bronx, NY to the late Robert and Wilhelmine (Fallman) Colson, Loraine lived in the Bronx until marrying the late George P. Reichert, where she then moved to Rolla, MO while George served in the U.S. Army.  In the 1950’s through the mid-1960’s, Mrs. Reichert lived in Georgia and followed by residing in Middlesex until the early 1990’s. She then relocated to Mahwah until settling to Pittstown in 2010.

Throughout her life, Loraine has worked at several retail stores and the Pentagon as an Administrator.  She then went on to work at Parker School in Middlesex where she assisted in the cafeteria.  She was devoted to the Lord and was active with Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fairlawn and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville.  Loraine enjoyed her flower garden, liked to knit and cook for her family and friends. 

Predeceased by her husband George P. Reichert, surviving are her two loving sons; George and his wife Debbie of Bloomsbury and William and his wife Marie of Swedesboro; grandchildren, Erika Laine and her husband Heikki of Pittstown, Todd Reichert and his wife Jessica of Lambertville, Nick and Alivia Reichert of Swedesboro and her sister, Adriane Schick and her husband Frank of Mt. Pleasant, SC.  She is also survived by her companion, Fred Lentz of Mahwah; nephew, Thomas Schick and his wife Joan of Easton, CT along with their three children; Morgan, Brennan and Carsen and niece, Janine McManus and her husband Kevin of Daniel Island, SC and their two children; Lauren and Jillian.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 beginning at 10am followed by an 11:30am funeral service in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846.

Immediately following the funeral service, Loraine will be laid to rest at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook.
