Obituary of Aurora O Maldonado

Aurora O. Maldonado, 73, passed away Friday evening, September 15, 2023, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Aurora met and married her beloved husband, Rafael and subsequently immigrated to the United States. They settled in Plainfield where they raised their three children.

Aurora admired nature and was often found taking slow walks. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking, but most of all, cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, Rafael Maldonado who died in 1990 and three siblings; surviving are her three children, Mildred Colón and husband Emilio, Carlos Maldonado and girlfriend Maria, and Javier Maldonado and wife Llesenia; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her six siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 12 - 4PM.  Cremation will follow privately.

Aurora will be buried alongside her husband in Hillside Cemetery on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:30AM.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30AM.
