Obituary of Scott S Gundersen
Scott SungSoon Gundersen, 40, son of Bill R. Gundersen and the late Patricia A. Gundersen, died on October 3, 2023, in New Brunswick, following a long struggle with mental illness and substance abuse issues.
Born in South Korea on March 9, 1983, he was adopted at age 4 and raised in South Plainfield. He played football for South Plainfield High School and graduated in 2001.
Scott was predeceased by his beloved mother, Patricia, in 2009. He is survived by his father, Bill (Janice) of Groveland, FL; his sister, Krista Gundersen, brother-in-law, Michael Burns, and nephew, Dashiell Burns, of Jersey City; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
