Obituary of Irene Butrico
Irene (Jaskulski) Butrico, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Senior Home and Nursing Center in Woodbridge.
Irene was born in Erie, PA, and had resided in the Scranton Area before settling in South Plainfield where she established deep roots beginning in 1937.
Irene had worked as a seamstress but was mainly the matriarch of her large family, who raised five sons and was a devoted wife. As a faithful member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in South Plainfield, she had been active with the Altar Rosary Society and the Feast of St. Anthony.
Predeceased by her husband Charles Sr. in 2006, she is survived by her sons; Charles and his significant other Chrissy, William and his wife Suzanne, Vincent and his wife Maria, Michael and his wife Gayle and Paul and his wife Laura as well as her daughter in law, Sherry Butrico. Also surviving is her sister, Theresa Bielinski and husband Joseph, sister-in-law, Bette Jaskulski, Theresa Tolischus and brother-in-law William Butrico and his wife Patricia as well as numerous extended family and friends. She is most proud of the legacy she has created which also includes her seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may attend the visitation hours of 4-8PM which will begin on Friday in McCriskin- Gustafson Funeral Home, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080
Funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9 AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church at 10 AM.
Interment will follow mass in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St Joseph’s Senior Home and Nursing Center in Woodbridge, NJ.
