Hello. I was a colleague of John from EY. I was shocked to learn that he passed away last year. I meant to make this donation earlier, but I really wanted to put something in his name. He will be missed.

John was one of the most kindhearted people I've ever met. We worked together for many years and John was always ready with a smile and a positive word. I'll remember how he loved sports and the Jersey Shore. I will also remember the many times John helped me think through a work issue and come up with a solution that fit just right. He will be missed.

It was a true pleasure knowing John and working with him at EY. He was always smiling and his great sense of humor managed to lighten the mood, even during stressful times. What I will always remember about John is his kind soul and his warm heart. May his memory be a blessing.

I knew john since pop warner football and all the way through Piscataway High School and then onto 4 years at Glassboro State. Many fond memories but one of my favorites was a road trip to Fort Lauderdale for Spring Break with Scott Rokosny & David Turner. I will never forget it and I will never forget John. Very sad!

Michael, Clare, Ann and families,
We can't imagine the heartache and sadness that you and your families are experiencing. Your brother John was simply the kindest person that we knew. He talked about all of you, your parents, his siblings, and his nieces and nephews with such love and admiration.
Your family is in our prayers.
With love and sympathy,

I first met John on my first day at Glassboro State back in 1982. We were on the drop/add line and he quickly became my first college friend.
John had the uncanny ability to make everyone he met feel like they were special. It was such a gift and it came so naturally to him. He was the friend that was always there for you whether you were with him often or didn't see him for a while. He could talk your ear off but one of his finest qualities was that he was such an awesome listener… he truly cared about people.
We know we will be looking up to him for guidance to remind us of how important the simple things in life are… family and friends. We are the ones that were truly blessed to call him… friend.
Rob and I will miss your wonderful sense of humor and that great big smile! Thanks for over 40 years of friendship.
Love ya
Rob and Tricia MacEwen

My deepest sympathy to the La Place family. I always enjoyed hanging out with John. Weather it was our golf outings with the usual foursome of Tom, Don, John and me, or dinner with friends and even going to see some music at the Stone Pony, he always had that smile on his face. I will think of him always and smile. Rest in peace my friend.

I met John when I was in an entry level PR person - he was my supervisor at MWW. And he was the best. Kind, patient and always had a sense of humor. We stayed in touch all of these years and he was always the epitome of kindness and grace - quick with a compliment, first to offer support and always offering the most genuine smile. He was a rare gentleman in a business that is often more competetive than compassionate. I will always remember his patience and how much he taught me. He will be missed.

John and I worked together at EY for many years. He was hard working, diligent, and a true team player. I truly enjoyed working with him. John was positive and upbeat. He had a great sense of humor and truly cared about the people around him. He loved talking to me about sports teams and ran our March Madness bracket every year. I have such a fond place in my heart for John.

We called you LaRue and many other names, and friend goes without saying. You were our leader and if I could recite the PRSSA pledge like you, I would add it here. For now, here's just a few pix that we've been sharing back and forth this week. More to come. Miss you my man. Our hearts are with you, Maureen, Michael, Clare and Anne, as well as the many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends who hold you forever in our hearts. Rest in peace Johnny and remind me to tell you something I meant to say when we meet next. Cheers.
