South Plainfield – Gennaro D’Adezzio, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville NJ after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.

Born and raised in Jersey City to the late Grace and Sebastian D’Adezzio, he settled to South Plainfield with his wife Geraldine.  Gennaro had been employed by the United States Postal Service at the bulk distribution center in Secaucus prior to his retirement.

Known as "G-Man", Gennaro was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  He was an avid bowler who was proud of his many 300 games, and wore his rings proudly.  Gennaro was also a sports enthusiast who loved the Jets, Yankees, and Rangers. He enjoyed good banter amongst family and friends over sports and loved to spend long days at the beach, on a road trip, at the casino, or at a concert. G-man was a true family man; He was a kind, selfless, music and sports loving guy who didn't let the disease slow him down.

He is predeceased by his parents (Sebastian and Grace), his brother in law Father Roch Ciandella, and sister in law Barbara Vinci.

Gennaro will be deeply missed by his surviving wife, Geraldine (Ciandella) D’Adezzio, two daughters, Jennifer Gil and husband Eric and Therese D’Adezzio and partner Marianne, two beloved grandchildren Juliet and Jake Gil, siblings Judith Ciandella and husband Gerard, Philomena, Canio, and Michael D’Adezzio; as well as, his dear friend and brother in law, Jimmy Ciandella; as well as, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJon Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4-7.  Those attending are encouraged to come as you are.
