Obituary of Joan Mazuca
Joan Mazuca, 80, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born in Plainfield, Joan grew up and resided in South Plainfield for many years before settling in Plainfield over 50 years ago.
Joan worked at the former Johnston Avenue Bakery as well as the former Muhlenburg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield for many years.
Outside of work, Joan enjoyed caring for and rescuing animals, especially cats and dogs, with her husband Peter, which was aligned with her generous heart and caregiver nature. Joan was a passionate woman and a dedicated mother and grandmother.
Predeceased by her two siblings, Joan is survived by her husband, Peter; sons, Joseph (Sandra) of Edison, John (Leslie) of Lebanon, and Peter (Tracey) of Washington, her seven grandchildren, as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10 AM to 11 AM.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11 AM on Saturday.
Inurnment will follow at Hillside Cemetery - Scotch Plains, 1401 Woodland Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ.
