Obituary of Evelyn Gayle Troia
Middlesex, NJ – Evelyn Gayle Troia, just three days shy of her 81st birthday, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Born and raised in Somerville to the late Harry and Grace (DeNise) Larison, Gayle moved to Middlesex when she was twenty-one.
Gayle retired from AT&T in Somerset where she worked for several years as an administrative assistant. A member of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Gayle belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed her time with the travelling seniors and was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Auxiliary of the Middlesex Fire Department. In her down time, Gayle liked to cross stitch, knit, travel and read and would never miss an opportunity to be with her family.
Predeceased by her husband Lorenzo, siblings; Harry Larison, Jr., Grace Tunison, Doug Larison, Jean Fiedler-Herbert and Shirley Panfili and her four legged companion Abbie, Gayle leaves behind her son Antonio Troia (Carol) and daughter Julia Nelson (Tim) all of Middlesex, grandchildren; Antonio L. Troia of Baltimore, MD, Brooke A. Nelson, Joseph L. Nelson and Lorenzo F. Troia of Middlesex. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews and her four-legged friend Misty.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 4pm-8pm and on Friday, February 2, 2024 beginning 9:30am. Funeral services will begin 10:00 am in the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2024 followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church. Gayle will be laid to rest with her husband in The Twelve Apostles Mausoleum located within Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
