Edison – Joseph Blondo, 94, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

 

Born and raised in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, NY; Joseph is one of twelve siblings born to Sicilian Immigrants in 1929.  He settled to Budd Lake in 1975 with his beloved wife, Henrietta, where they raised their son, Joseph and in 2021, they relocated into the NJ Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park.

 

An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, Joseph served during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.  He retired from Standard Brands, today known as Nabisco and Kraft Foods in 1989 where he held an office manager position in the Special Products Division.

 

A lifelong NY Yankees and NY Giants fan, Joseph loved horse racing and playing cards and was also a member of the Mount Olive Senior Citizens Club.  A family man, Joseph remained close with his siblings and his many nieces and nephews.

 

Surviving are his wife, Henrietta (Nee Kennedy) Blondo and son, Joseph Blondo; siblings, Beatrice Blondo, Mary Blondo and Richard Blondo; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 4-7PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.

 

Entombment is being held privately at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
