John Cochrane, Jr.

Obituary of John S. Cochrane, Jr.

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John S. “Jack” Cochrane, Jr., 71, passed away at his residence after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer on February 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Plainfield to the late John and Louise (Mucerino) Cochrane, Jack has been a lifelong resident of Middlesex.

He retired as a truck driver for Brenntag located in East Brunswick.  Jack had a love for outdoors, especially working in his garden and outside in the yard, but his true passion outdoors was by the water.  He was a true “Jersey Shore” guy who loved spending time at the beach and was an avid surfer and fisher.

Jack had a love for the NY Yankees and NY Giants.  When his son and daughter were in school, he enjoyed Middlesex Youth as a coach.  Above all things, family was number one to Jack, especially his grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents, step-mother Elizabeth “Betty” Gilbride-Cochrane and by his sister Jill Cochrane who died December 9, 2016, Jack leaves behind his loving wife; Nancy L. Cochrane, daughter Shannon, son Chris and his wife Michelle, as well as three grandchildren; Chase, Ella and Everly and his sister Joyce Cochrane of Fort Myers, FL.

Jack loved his many dogs over the years, especially Trooper and Minnie who helped comfort him during his illness.

At the request of the Cochrane family, funeral arrangements are privately held with Middlesex Funeral Home. A service honoring Jack’s life will be held in the near future.  Please consider a donation in Jack’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org.)
