Obituary of Dennis Napoleon
Dennis Michael Napoleon, 82, a 53 year resident of South Plainfield, New Jersey passed early Thursday morning, March 14, 2024 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.
Dennis was born on August 19, 1941 and was raised in the downtown section of Jersey City. He resided in Kearny before settling in South Plainfield in 1971.
Dennis worked for 43 years in the communication industry starting as a communications engineer for Western Electric (where he met his wife Barbara) and continuing as a contract analyst for AT&T and then Lucent Technologies. True to his pledge, he never worked another day after the day he retired. Dennis served in the Army Reserves from 1963-1969 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in South Plainfield. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards, watch the Giants and Yankees, win big at Fantasy Football, and spend lazy days at the beach riding the waves. Lovingly known as the “Silver Fox” to family and friends or “Poppop” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dennis will always be remembered for his commitment to family, strong sense of responsibility, and firm conviction in his beliefs.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Sisco) Napoleon; his children Cathy Cuccio and husband Lloyd Gregory of Colonia, David Napoleon and wife Karen of Brick and Denise Parcells and husband Fred of Dunellen; his grandchildren, Jennifer Losi, Brittaney Hagaman, Michael and Scott Gregory, Lindsey Cuccio, and Isabel and Addison Parcells; his great grandchildren; Leo, Christopher, Valentina, and Matthew Gregory, Nathan Sherman, Landon Losi, Iris Hagaman, and his sister Patricia Jasinkiewicz of Long Valley. He is predeceased by his parents James and Mary (Kaplan) Napoleon, his brother, James Jr., and his great granddaughter Brynley Hagaman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 4-8pm at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 beginning at 9:15am at the funeral home followed by a 10am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
