Evanthia Ballas Obituary

Evanthia Ballas, 71, passed away in the early hours of July 10, 2024 after a valiant fight with Cancer. Evanthia was born in Cephalonia, Greece to the late Antonios and Amalia Ballas, and was raised in America after her family migrated here when she was a child.  Having a devout love for the Greek Culture, she immersed herself in the study of Greece’s music, dancing , and history, and spent many summers visiting the country of her birth.


She leaves behind her brother Eftechios “Tim” Ballas and his fiancee’ Christine Nowak of Branchburg, as well as extended family members and friends.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. the following day on Monday, July 15, 2024, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.


Evanthia will be buried in Bound Brook Cemetery which is the resting place of her parents and many other family members.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to Saint Barbara Ladies Philoptochos of Saint George
