Arvind was born in Ahmedabad, India in 1939 to Haribhai and Dahiben and traveled to the United States by ship from Bombay in 1960. He shared this month-long adventure with his best friend Raj, porting in Alexandria and London, before arriving on the East Coast. He continued his academic studies at the Philadelphia College of Textile and Science and later at Fairleigh Dickinson University, earning his MBA. He met his beautiful wife, Margarita, shortly after.
Arvind and Margarita settled in South Plainfield to raise their family and quickly made friends with many neighbors. Arvind lived life to its fullest, using his time and talents to help others in any way he could. He was a gentle, humble, kind human being and a devotee of St. Jude, leading by his actions and faithfulness to God. Arvind was dedicated to supporting his children and grandchildren in their sports and interests, never missing any events. He loved to travel and take road trips with his extended family and was a true foodie and an avid bicyclist. Arvind found the greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends and will be forever in our hearts.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Margarita, son Robert, daughter Monika, son-in-law Keith, and beloved grandchildren Keith Philip and Ashlynn.
He is predeceased by his parents and sister Manjula and leaves behind his adoring sisters Urmila, Usha, and Kusum, many nieces and nephews, the “Gran Familia” in Colombia and many loving friends.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Arvind’s life.
