Obituary of Leonor Santos Torres
Leonor Santos Torres passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Born to Leon and Serafia Santos on September 15, 1935, in Manila Philippines, the youngest of seven children.
A graduate of Philippine Normal College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, Leonor worked as a special education teacher for many years.
She married her high school sweetheart, Armando Barro Torres (preceded), and married him in December of 1960, marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love and devotion. Leonor and Armando’s love extended to their four children, Reymar (preceded), Julius and his wife Jennifer, Joseph, and Rosemarie. Her two grandchildren Julianne and Justin will forever carry her legacy of kindness and joy.
The family immigrated to the United States in May 1971, settling in New York City. They eventually moved to Jersey City and finally settled in Piscataway. Leonor worked for Block Drug in Jersey City, as well as Western Electric in Kearny. She retired from Hanover Insurance in 2005.
Her love of travel brought her to visit many places within the United States, as well as, to many countries around the world such as Canada, Spain, and Italy, but her true love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
At the request of Leonor's family, all services including entombment at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway will be held privately.
