South Plainfield, NJ – Dorothy Ann Uken, 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Hackensack Meridian Hospital.  Born in Dunellen to the late George and Bertha (Skowronski) Hahn, Dorothy grew up in Dunellen and moved to South Plainfield. 

 

Dorothy worked on the assembly line of Chanel in Piscataway.  She was an avid bowler, enjoyed needlework and latch work and was a huge NY Yankees fan. 

 

Predeceased by her sister MaryLou Hahn and son-in-law Bill Toland, Jr., Dorothy leaves behind her four daughters; Jennifer Gooding (Jeffrey Bunch,) Sandra Klinger (David,) Dana Uken and Amy Toland.  She will be missed dearly by her loving partner of forty years, Frank Travisano as well as by many extended family members.

 

Visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Sunday, August 18, 2024 beginning at 1:00pm.  A concluding prayer service will be held at 4:30pm.  Cremation will take place privately and Dorothy’s cremated remains will be buried with her parents at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent in Dorothy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.StJude.org) would be appreciated.
