Obituary of Dennis Patrick Reilly

Dennis Patrick Reilly, 74, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.

Born to the late Frances (nee Dzean) and Francis Reilly in Newark, NJ, Dennis grew up in Iselin and settled in South Plainfield in 1980, where he has been a resident since. He worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2009, and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 38.

Dennis enjoyed time on the golf course, reading the comics in the newspaper, and spending time with family and friends. It was the time spent with his one and only grandchild, Blake, that meant the most to him, as he loved Blake very much.

Predeceased by his wife, Judy Ann Reilly, Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Caroline Reilly, and Meghan Erdmann, and her husband Jim, and his grandson Blake. He will also be missed by his brother, Glenn Reilly, and in-laws Jerry and Carolann George, Jack and Patti George, and Jeff and Joan George.

A visitation will be held at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home beginning at 10 AM.

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.
