Obituary of Carmella E Bellina
Carmella E. Bellina, 91, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset, NJ.
Born in Milburn, NJ to the late Pasquale and Rosalia Boffa, Carmella has been a longtime resident of Piscataway. In 1956, she married Louis Peter Bellina, and the two started a family in Vauxhall, before moving to Springfield, NJ, and finally settling in Piscataway in 1964.
For 35 years, Carmella worked in Piscataway School Cafeterias, where she had the pleasure of watching her children and grandchildren attend the same schools she worked in. The first ten years were spent working for the Piscataway Board of Education, retiring in 1994. However, she then went to work for the private food service companies that served Piscataway for another 25 years, retiring again at the age of 87.
Outside of work, Carmella loved to play the piano and dance, especially with her husband; it was a beautiful sight to see the two light up a dance floor. She also enjoyed time spent sitting outside with her dog Midnight, oftentimes watching the deer in the front yard. Carmella looked forward to taking trips down the shore, but not the beach. The boardwalk was where she found joy. Her favorites were Keansburg, NJ, and Keyport, NJ, always looking to stop at the Keyport Fishery. She also aimed to visit Atlantic City as often as possible. Above all else, Carmella cherished the time she spent with her family.
Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, before his passing, Louis Peter Bellina Sr.; son Eugene Pat Bellina; and brothers, Theodore and Anthony Boffa, Carmella will be missed by her children, Christine Bellina, Louis Peter Bellina, Jr. and his wife Debra, and Paul C. Bellina; grandchildren, Jennifer and Louis Peter III; and seven great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister, Rose Caruso, her nieces and nephews, and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 12 PM.
A visitation will be held in the funeral home prior to funeral services from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, 899 E. Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the Bellina family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association, in Carmella’s name.
