George Babish Jr, 91 years of age, passed on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at his family home. 

Born on April 27, 1933 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Ernestine and George Babish Sr., George was educated and graduated from Hillside High School in New Jersey. He later served in the United States Army during the Korean War, from 1953 to 1955, when he was honorably discharged.

George married the love of his life, Joan (Carlos), and raised their beloved son George III in South Plainfield, New Jersey.  Joan and George were married    70 years, true high school sweethearts.

George worked as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines and Transcontinental Pipeline and Gas.  He was an avid New York Giants football and New York Yankee fan.  He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his loving family. 

George is survived by his son George III, brother in law John T. Carlos, nieces Jennifer Coppola, Karyn Gosnell (James), Margaret Carlos, grandnephew Michael Coppola III, grandniece Madison Rose Coppola, and many other family and friends.

George is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Joan. 

A visitation will be held at McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM.

Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11 AM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM.
