Obituary of Millie Mazza
Formerly of Piscataway – Millie “Carmella” Mazza, 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at House of Good Shepherd located in Hackettstown. Born in New Brunswick to the late Saverio and Anna Collazzo Fiore, Millie lived in the same house in Piscataway for sixty-eight years prior to settling closer to her daughters in Hackettstown in 2022.
She retired from Ethicon where she worked on the assembly line. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway, loved to cook and bake all the traditional Italian recipes, but also enjoyed cooking her friends’ native dishes. She especially loved hosting gatherings for all of her family and friends. When she wasn’t cooking and entertaining those she loved, Millie enjoyed spending time at the casinos, travelling cross country or on cruises, and was an avid bowler.
Predeceased by her husband Carmen in 2017 and by her siblings; Theresa, Nicholas and Rose Fiore and Dominic, Ralph, Joseph and Salvatore Moccio, Millie leaves behind her loving daughters; RoseAnn Chavez and her husband Ernie and Celia Mazza. She will be missed dearly by her five grandchildren; Daniel, Joshua and his wife Kristen, Christian, Abbey and Kenneth, two great-grandchildren; Gavin and Liam and by her younger brother Steve Moccio and his wife Rose Marie of Absecon.
Millie’s family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to those who took phenomenal care of her while living at the House of Good Shepherd located in Hackettstown.
Visitaiton will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 9:00am until 10:30am. An 11:00am funeral mass will follow at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 208 Bound Brook Avenue, Piscataway with entombment at Resurrection Burial Park, also in Piscataway.
