Obituary of Ginette Janasiak
Ginette Janasiak, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, NJ.
A longtime resident of South Plainfield, Ginette spent her early years in Roselle, NJ. In 1962, she married her late husband, Jerald Janasiak, and in 1964 the two settled in South Plainfield. She lived in town for nearly 60 years, until she moved to Point Pleasant to reside with her daughter and son-in law in 2021.
In 1963, she began working for Vari-Typer Corp. as a Secretary. She left the company in 1968 to raise her family. She returned to work in 1980 as a travel agent for various agencies up until 1990. She then began working for Kaplan Podiatry, as an office manager until retiring in 2010.
While living in South Plainfield, Ginette was an active parishioner of The Church of the Sacred Heart. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, and entertaining. After her move to Point Pleasant, she discovered an interest in R.V. camping and cherished spending time with family while enjoying the great outdoors.
Predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Jerald Janasiak, Sr., Ginette is survived by her children, Deborah Keyes with her husband Michael and Jerald Janasiak, Jr.; granddaughter Danielle Armistead and her fiancé Jason Van Soest; and step-grandchildren, Amanda (Tom Reed) Keyes, Michael (Christina) Keyes, and Kevin (Vanessa Vitolo) Keyes. She will also be missed by her step great grandchildren, Jonathan, Estelle, and Melodie, her many nieces and nephews, and a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1 PM to 4 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home prior to mass, beginning at 9 AM.
Cremation Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, in Ginette’s name.
