Obituary of Eileen N. Borre
Eileen Borre, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024, at her home in Somerset, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ to the late Kenneth and Frances Rodenbaugh, Eileen spent her early years in Newark, before moving to Hillside, where she graduated Hillside High School, Class of 1969. Following her marriage to Leo Borre, the two settled in Union, NJ where they raised their family, and in 2005, they moved to Somerset, where they have lived since.
Eileen worked as a travel agent for over 35 years, working for various agencies before starting her own company, Travel Vision, which she owned and operated for over 20 years.
Eileen began her journey serving God on October 31, 1976, at Evangel Church before moving to Calvary Tabernacle Church where she became active in prayer for people to receive Jesus and to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It was here she also taught new believers classes. 15 years ago, Eileen joined the International House of Prayer at Eastern Gate, where she has been an active member of the church and Prayer Team Ministry, helping spread her love of the Lord, and pray for those in need.
She also cherished her time spent with her family, especially her weekend shopping trips with her daughter and grandchildren. Over the years, she also found great joy in traveling, taking many cruises and visiting Lancaster two times a year.
Predeceased by her parents and sister, Mary Corigliano, Eileen is survived by her husband, Leo L. Borre and children, Kenneth Borre and Kimberly Figueiredo and her husband Luis. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Julia and Joshua; siblings George Rodenbaugh and his wife Yitsa and Linda Plaia and her husband Richie; and brother in law, John Corigliano, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at Calvary Tabernacle Church, 69 Myrtle St, Cranford, NJ, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Funeral Services will be held in the church on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, beginning at 6 PM.
Burial will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Family and friends are invited to gather at McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, prior to the burial, beginning at 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the Borre family has requested that donations be made to the International House of Prayer at Easter Gate, 950 Raritan Road, Cranford NJ 07016, in Eileen’s name.
