Q: How did you meet Anthony?
A: Anthony and I were classmates at Beach Channel HS. We met thru Music as he was in Band and I was in Chorus. Later, we would briefly chat in the halls and bleachers at games. Our love of music was strong. He was such a kind friend. After HS graduation, we moved on to our paths in life but I always remembered my friend Anthony (Tony). Over the years, through Facebook, we stayed connected and loved seeing each other families. Tony, I miss you my friend. We will see each other again my friend. Until then, keep playing your music in heaven. Love you, Andy

Anthony was my first friend when we went to school for Kindergarten. We met at the entrance to P.S. 183. We smiled immediately at each other and started talking. We were friends all through elementary school. He came to my house several times over the years and my family just loved him. Anthony and I were close to our 8th grade teacher Rhoda Grayzel-Webb and her husband Richard Webb. We used to hang out in their apartment. Tony and I had good times their. They took us to many sporting events Jets games and hockey games and taught us about many things. It was a blast. The last time I saw Anthony was at his first wedding in Rockaway Beach. He called me "red" when I saw him. That was my nickname because I had a giant red Afro. I was so happy to see him that day.
The last time we texted was a day or two before his passing and I made him laugh. I am glad that we laughed at the end as when we were two little kids long ago in front of our new school when we were little. Lots of love to his whole family.

Q: What will you miss most about Anthony?
A: I have known Anthony since 1979 when he and his brother Mike played for the Rockaway A's. I used to practice with the team and from that moment I was his little brother, then he became school security at Far Rock HS. Now I had to hear him say to me everyday don't follow those fools little brother get your education and play your sports. It was Anthony, Rodger and Mr. Ferrell that convinced my mother to let me play softball with them on Sundays and to let me travel with the to Sante South Carolina. I remember him saying don't worry Ms Alice I'll personally look after my little brother. I will miss those videos calls with my big brother, I will miss seeing his face and hearing his voice.
Peace and love always big brother
From your little brother,
Alan-Lorenzo Montague
