Obituary of Anthony J. Carnevale
Piscataway, NJ – Anthony “Chicky” Carnevale, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 28, 2024 at his home in Piscataway surrounded by his loving family.
Chick was born in Plainfield, to the late Nicholas and Mary Carnevale. On November 3, 1951, he married his sweetheart, Patricia Stryker. Chick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended Plainfield High School and practiced his catholic religion. He worked for Van Doren Laundry as a driver and Samoset Laundry as a truck driver. He once owned Sinclair Gas Station in Watchung and then opened his own painting business, “Anthony Carnevale Painting Contractor.”
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, car repairs and fixing things. He loved and helped his children with anything they needed. Chick was an accomplished Accordion Player and played in local country western bands in the 50’s.
Predeceased by his brother Vincent, Chick is survived by his beautiful wife Patricia of seventy-eight years, brother Donald and his wife Kathy, son Nicholas and his wife Jeanie, daughter Laura and her husband Ray, daughter Debbie and her husband Kenny, son Anthony and his wife Carol, son Steven and youngest son Christopher. He also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren that he cherished.
A private service will be held for Chick’s family. A special thank you goes out to hospice for the wonderful care he received as he battled Alzheimer’s disease.
