Obituary of Donna M Wytko
South Plainfield, NJ – Donna M. Wytko, 69, passed away peacefully at her home in the early hours of Tuesday, January 7, 2025 with her loving family at her side. Born in Plainfield to the late John and Helen (Holowka) Jarema, Donna grew up in Edison and in 1978, she relocated to South Plainfield.
Donna worked in the family delicatessen, Sunnyside Deli & Catering from 1970 – 1993. After taking a few years off to be with her family, she then started working for the Edison Board of Education. In 1997, she started as a lunch aide and retired as a custodian.
Donna had a love for playing Yahtzee and cards. She especially enjoyed her trips to the casino. She could always be found down the shore and could lounge on the beach for hours on end. If she wasn’t at the beach, she would enjoy her pool days with the family.
Predeceased by her sister Debra “Debbie” Madore in 1985, Donna leaves behind her children; Cynthia Mondero and her husband Melvin of Middlesex and Lisa Mancino and her husband Adam of South Plainfield. She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren; Tyler and Sheena Mondero of St. Catherine’s Ontario, Canada, Madison Mondero of Middlesex, and Sandro and Sienna Mancino of South Plainfield, her sister Susan Kohut and her husband Gary of Edison and by eleven nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. On Thursday, January 9, 2025, family and friends may gather to the funeral home beginning 9:30am with a service to begin at 10:00am. Donna will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery located in Scotch Plains following the services.
