Obituary of Julian Michael Oszeyczik
Please share a memory of Julian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Julian Michael Oszeyczik, "Julie"/"Skeel", 98, loving husband and father of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Lyons Veterans Administration Hospital in Bernards Township, NJ.
Born and raised in Plainfield, NJ to the late Joseph and Michalina Oszeyczik, he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Oszeyczik was part of the 14th Infantry, where he was initially assigned to guard the Panama Canal, before and after the war began. He then continued the fight on the front line throughout France and Germany, receiving many metals for his valor; he was most proud of his Combat Infantry Award and was a Purple Heart recipient.
After his honorable discharge in 1945, he began his 40 year career working as a wood patternmaker, retiring from Carborundum in Sayreville.
Julian was an avid golfer; his love for the game began in Plainfield where at 13 he began to caddy and learn the game. His love of golf was almost as great as his love for family and friends. He had a broad wealth of knowledge and a wide range of hobbies including photography, astronomy, and the study of natural sciences and history.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Oszeyczik (nee Moskowitz) and his dear siblings Joseph, John, Mary, Helen, Sophie, Edward, Jean, and Stella.
Surviving are his loving daughters, Karen Ann Oszeyczik and Marcia Lee Ann Oszeyczik of Piscataway, his dear sister Katherine Pauline Hannagan of Whitehouse Station, and his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00AM at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 11:00am and continue with military honors and interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
