Obituary of Michael M. Gemellaro

Michael M. Gemellaro, 66, of South Plainfield, passed away on February 19, 2018 at his home. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to the late Santo and Margaret Gemellaro (nee Lionetta), he was a former resident of Edison, before moving to South Plainfield two years ago. Mr. Gemellaro began his career as a bagel store owner in New York, before joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #3, New York where he worked as an electrician for 25 years. Mike enjoyed bowling, and was known for his sense of humor. He cherished the quality time spent with his family and was devoted to his grandchildren. Mike would spend every moment he could with his grandchildren, supporting them unconditionally, and loving them with his whole heart. Surviving are his beloved wife, Joanne Mary Danks, his loving children, Theresa Danks, John Danks and wife Carrie, April Brandwein and husband Troy, his adored grandchildren Peter, John Michael, Louis, Kayla, Jolie, Caitlin, and Tori, his siblings, Marc Gemellaro and wife Phyllis, and Gerard Gemellaro and wife Annette, his dear sister in law Chris Gemellaro, and his extended family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM on Friday, February 23, 2018 at St. Helena's R.C. Church, Edison. Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 8:30AM at the funeral home.
