South Plainfield - Louise D. Valentino, 91, died Wednesday February 21, 2018 at JFK Medical Center.
Born and raised in Madison Wisconsin, Louise settled to South Plainfield in 1955 and raised her family.
An avid reader, Louise enjoyed baking, gardening and traveling on the Delta Queen River Boat with her best friend and late husband of 61 years, Dominic. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church and was active in their Alter Rosary Society.
She will remembered as loving, wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her husband, Dominic Valentino; infant daughter, Katherine and four siblings, surviving are a daughter, Elaine Somers and husband Robert Jr.; son, Patrick Valentino and wife Barbara all of South Plainfield and four adored grandchildren; Elizabeth, Margaret and Joseph Valentino and Meghan Collins. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10AM.
Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum in South Plainfield.
Family and friends may gather in the funeral home from 4-7PM on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
