Obituary of Rose M. Conte

Formerly of Middlesex - Rose M. (Arena) Conte, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Tampa, FL on May 30, 2018. Born in Bayonne to the late Ruggiero and Calogera "Lillian" (Monteleone) Arena, Rose raised her family in Brooklyn, settled to Middlesex in 1965 and upon the death of her beloved husband Joseph A. Conte, Sr., Rose retired to Florida in 1986. Rose enjoyed all the time spent with her family as a homemaker. As Matriarch of the Conte family, Rose was truly an impactful, passionate and memorable lady who will be missed by all that knew her. Her kind, generous spirit who was the life of the party will live on through her entire family. She was very meticulous when it came to fashion. A well put together woman, Rose enjoyed getting dressed up no matter where she went. She enjoyed crocheting, was an avid scrabble player, liked to bowl, love to shop and was a fabulous cook. She worked in various capacities alongside her husband and sons in the family's flower business. Predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Conte, Sr., son Joseph, Jr. and five siblings; Anthony, Frances, Angelica, Beatrice and Lena, Rose leaves behind to cherish her memory; daughter Lillian Parisi and her husband Danny of Middlesex, sons Nick Conte and his wife Marilyn also of Middlesex and Philip Conte and his wife Pamela of Tampa, FL and her former daughter in law Mary Conte. Rose will be deeply missed by her nine dear grandchildren; James, Laura, Camille, Danny, Jr., Joseph, Michelle, Danielle, Nicole and Caitlyn as well as nine adored great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 4-8pm and on Thursday, June 7, 2018 beginning 9:15am. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 9:45am followed by a 10:30am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex. Rose will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in the family plot of Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
