***Please note The viewing for Jean will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. Prayers will be held at 12:00 pm with burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.*** Jean A. Fantazir, 94, formerly of South Plainfield, passed away on March 2, 2018 at Regency Park Nursing Center in Hazlet. Born in South Plainfield to the late Angelo and Irene (Fasano) Carrocio, Jean was a longtime resident of South Plainfield before relocating to Hazlet in 2016. She worked as a receptionist for Centerbridge II located in Bridgewater and for over thirty years, she was employed at the Jug house in Piscataway. She was very active with the South Plainfield Elks #2298 and loved to crochet, knit, cook and spend time with her family. Predeceased by her husband Albert in 1977, son Gery in 1997 and sister Anna Formica in 2012, Jean leaves behind her three loving grandchildren; Tamara Lyristis and her husband Charlie, Travis Fantazir and his wife Adrianne and Trisha Fantazir and her husband John Cassie, three great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law Laura Fantazir. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 beginning 11:00 am. A religious prayer service will be held at 12:00 pm with burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
