Daniel J. Nehila Monroe - Daniel J. Nehila, age 75, died on, Tuesday, January 26th at home in Monroe. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Mr. Nehila lived in Hopelawn and South Plainfield before settling in Monroe 12 years ago. He worked for Commerce Clearing House in Westfield in the maintenance division and is a former member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Dan is a Veteran of the Air Force and during his enlistment he played on the baseball team. Being a sports enthusiast, he was avid Giants football fan, and enjoyed golf, bowling and basketball. In addition Dan also participated as an assistant coach with the South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club. He is pre deceased by his 1st wife Janet (Abbruzzese). Surviving are his current wife Patricia A. Kofka Nehila, his daughter Pamela Mazro and her husband Mark of Piscataway, his step children; Pamela Lacina of Spotswood and Jay Kofka and his wife Linda of Milltown., his 2 sisters; Margaret Nehila of Lakewood and Susan Zwolinski of Phillipsburg and his 2 brothers; Stephen " Whitey" Nehila and his wife Rose of South Carolina and Timothy Nehila and his wife Sarah of Maine. Also surviving are his 5 grandchildren; Heather and Michael Mazro, John and Melynda Kofka and Kyle Lacina as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, New Jersey 07080, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will take place at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield. Visitation in the funeral home will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
