Obituary of Roger Patrick Royce

Roger P. Royce Loving Father & Pop-Pop South Plainfield, NJ - Roger P. Royce, 78, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Haven Hospice located in Edison within JFK Medical Center. Born in Quebec, Canada to his late parents Raul and Mary Royce, Roger moved to the United States as a young man, where he lived in Paterson and Iselin before settling to South Plainfield thirty years ago. As a proud veteran, he faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Roger was honorably discharged as a medical technician in 1953 and was awarded several citations for his courageous acts. Employed as a General Manager for Supermarkets General, he worked throughout the state of New Jersey before his retirement in 1992. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and Saint Anne de Beaupre Catholic Church in Quebec, Canada. A former fourth degree member of the Iselin Knights of Columbus and the Disabled American Veterans, where he served as Vice President for many years. Predeceased by his devoted wife Anna D. Royce who passed away on February 14, 2002 and by his brother, Leon and sister, Margaret Liegeois He was a dedicated father to Maryann, grandfather to Kellyann and loving pop-pop to Jordan, Savannah and Breanne. Roger leaves behind his loving daughter Maryann Royce-Koehler and her husband Fred of Bound Brook, his dear brother Joe Royce of Wanague and by his cherished granddaughter Kellyann Giberson of Easton, PA and his adored great-grandchildren; Jordan Royce, Savannah Rose and Breanne Mikala, all of whom will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 beginning 9:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church also in South Plainfield. Roger will be entombed with his loving wife in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum in South Plainfield. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation in the funeral home on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 2-6 PM.
