Obituary of Helen Y Joynes

Helen Y. Joynes South Plainfield - Helen Y. Joynes, 89, died on Monday May 25, 2009 in The Residence at Forsgate in Monroe, NJ. Born in Roanoke, VA, she grew up there and moved to Yorktown, VA., before settling to South Plainfield over 50 years ago before recently settling to Monroe. She had been employed as the assistant to the personnel manager for National Starch Chemical Company in Plainfield before retiring 22 years ago after 32 years of employment. Helen is also a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dunellen. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas who died in 1992, she is also predeceased by two sisters, Thelma Lackes and Jimmy Martin and three brothers, Oscar, Mayer & Jay Young. She is survived by her daughter Roberta Jenkins and her husband, Bill of Monroe, two grandchildren, Curtis Jenkins & Dawn Disbrow and five great grandchildren, Connor, Grant, Sean, Jack & Cole. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 29, 2009 at 11:000 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family & Friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
