Obituary of Isabel "Lee" Santy

Isabel M. Santy South Plainfield - Isabel M. "Lee" (Welsh) Santy, 77, died on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice in Edison. Born in Morristown, Lee has lived in South Plainfield for over 50 years. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1951 and during that time she worked as a lifeguard in Morris Plains. When she moved to the South Plainfield Lee worked as a crossing guard for several years at the corner of Sampton and Plainfield Avenues. In addition, Mrs. Santy worked as machine operator for Design and Molding in Piscataway and for Ceramic Elements in South Plainfield. Lee was a die hard N.Y. Yankees fan and she also sang in the Jersey Ramblers Band under the name of Lee Carson. She is pre-deceased by her husband Michael A. Sr., her daughter Phyllis Santy, her son Michael A. Jr. and by her step daughter, Nancy Santy Senia. Surviving are her sister, Margaret "Tolly" Welsh Richardson of Morristown and by her brother, John "Buzzy" Welsh and his wife Carol of Cedar Knolls. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery of Samptown, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
