John " Jay' Sokol Burlington - John "Jay" Sokol, 33, died on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ. Born in Elizabeth, Jay was raised in South Plainfield and lived in the boro for most of his life. Jay graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1993 and during his senior year he was a member of the track team. For nearly the past 6 years Jay worked for Component Technologies in Somerset as a Line Supervisor. He is pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents Margaret and Thomas Creighton and by his paternal grandfather Paul Sokol. Surviving are his Mother Barbara (Creighton) Murphy of South Plainfield, Father John of Burlington, 2 brothers Keith and his fiance Rebekah Loxsterman of Cranburyand Gregory (Natalie Bjornsen) of Edison, his sister Meghan Creighton of South Plainfield, his paternal grandmother Sophie Sokol of Toms River, his aunts Kathleen Creighton of Pt. Pleasant, Nancy Callahan and her husband Rick of Lawrence Harbor, Patricia Cullinane and her husband Michael of Bridgewater and Elaine Sokol of Toms River, and his uncles Thomas Creighton and his wife Kathryn of Bridgewater and Robert Sokol of Toms River. Also surviving are his nephew Kyle Sokol and several cousins Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
