Stephen " Al" Krajewski South Plainfield - Stephen "Al" Krajewski, 78, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA., he moved to Plainfield as a young man, residing in Plainfield's west end until he settled to South Plainfield in 1967. Al graduated from Plainfield High School in 1948 and later entered the United States Army where he served in Korea as a Sgt First Class before his discharge in 1953. He had been employed by the former K & S Televison of South Plainfield and later worked as the crossing guard at the intersection of Plainfield and Lane Avenue in South Plainfield. A member of the South Plainfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #6763, Al also enjoyed spending his time reading and woodworking. He is predeceased by his two brothers, Joseph and Vince. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene (Stasko) Krajewski, his two daughters, Joanne Esposito and her companion, Fred Behr, of South Plainfield and Karen Manney & her husband, Bob of Freehold. His sister, Helen Goulick and his brother, Henry Krajewski. Also surviving are his four dear grandchildren, Robert, Joseph, Stephen and Nicole Michelle. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 9:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 3-6 PM in the funeral home.
