Obituary of George S. Nemchick
George S. Nemchick Piscataway - George S. Nemchick, 74, died on Thursday January 3, 2008 at his home. Born in Eckley, PA., he grew up in Freeland and moved to Bound Brook in 1951. He later lived in Manville before settling to Piscataway 35 years ago. A popular young man, George served as the captain of his high school Baseball and Basketball teams and was also selected as president of the student body. He had been employed with Union Carbide's Bound Brook, NJ facility in their R & D department as a technician and chemist working his entire career in quality control. He retired in 1992 after 41 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. In addition, George attended Night School at Rutgers University taking special courses through the years. He was a social member of the Freeland VFW and had been an active communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway where he was president of the Holy Name Society, served as an usher of over 30 years and assisted with the annual feast. Predeceased by his eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his friend, Evelyn McCoid, his sisters, Irene Yadsko, and Agnes Cammisa., his brother, Paul Nemchick and his many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, New Market Avenue, Piscataway, NJ. Interment services will take place in Freeland, PA. At a later date. Vistation for family and friends will take place on Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 2-4 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
