Madeline Markham South Plainfield, NJ - Madeline (Sklenchar) Markham, 74, died on Sunday, October 31, 2010 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Jersey City, Mrs. Markham has resided in South Plainfield for the past 42 years. She worked for the South Plainfield Board of Education as the secretary to the Director of Special Services. Madeline was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and her passion was her family. She was an avid traveler and loved traveling to the islands and visiting beaches. She is predeceased by a grandson Brian Grare. Surviving are her loving family. Her husband John, her 2 daughters; Judith Grare and her husband Scott of Lebanon Twp. and Susan Mariani and her husband Christopher of Branchburg her son John and his wife Cynthia of Mountain Lakes, her sister Elaine Daly of Jersey City and her 5 grandchildren; Christopher Grare, Jennifer and Colleen Mariani and Grace and Jack Markham. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 4, 2010 beginning 9:15 AM in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Cremation services will be held privately. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
