Josephine Murtagh Edison- Josephine (DeSarno) Murtagh, 78 , passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, Josephine settled to Edison in 1962. She had been employed as a bank teller of the former Crestmont Savings & Loan in Newark prior to becoming a homemaker. Josephine found great pride and joy in spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition, she enjoyed going to garage sales. Her husband, William died in 1993. She is also predeceased by her three sisters, Anna Mone, Angela Palumbo and Rose Macera and three brothers, Frank, Salvatore and Phillip DeSarno. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Bobik and her husband Bob, of Edison, two sons, Kevin and his wife Nancy, of South Plainfield and Joseph and his wife Megan of West Caldwell and two sisters, Frances Clarke and Geraldine Feula. Also surviving are 10 Grandchildren, Brian, Lyndsey, Jessica, Amanda, Samantha Nicole, Sean, Matthew, Brittany and Shane. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 9:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 2-4 &7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donation in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN
