Obituary of Fred DiLorenzo

Fred DiLorenzo Edison - Fred DiLorenzo, 82, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Newark, he had resided in Metuchen for many years and in South Plainfield prior to settling in Edison. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1943 to 1946 before being honorably discharged. For many years, Fred was the Maitre d at the former Medici's Restaurant in South Plainfield. He later worked, part time, for the Parkway Authority. In addition, Fred served as the president of the Stardust Club, a social group of many long time friend who enjoyed various activities. He is predeceased by his sister, Dolly Mastroeni. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Granato) DiLorenzo, his daughters, Toni O'Sullivan and Phyllis Fanelli, his sons, Fred DiLorenzo and John Baylock and a brother, Pat DiLorenzo In addition, he is survived by nine grandchildren, Lora, Nancy, Liza, Amy, Jessica, Ashley, Ally, Nicole and John and two great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ. Entombment will follow in Cloverleaf Memorial Park Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Family and friends are invited to attnde the visitation on Thursday March 5, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ.
