Retired Head Nurse at St. Barnabas

Plainfield, NJ - Lillian P. (Harvey) Jones, 66, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

A lifelong resident of Plainfield, she graduated from Plainfield High School and continued her education at Union County Community College. She graduated with an Associates degree in nursing and worked as head nurse in the Burn Unit of St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston until her retirement in 2001.

She is survived by her children; Alicia S. Jones of Plainfield, Sandy E. Jones, Jr. of Plainfield and James R. Smith of Florida, her mother Nora B. Harvey also of Plainfield and by her siblings; Carolyn Fuller, Shirley Myers and James Battle all of Plainfield. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 beginning 11:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080

Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery located in Scotch Plains.

Relatives and friends may attend the visitation at the funeral home on Monday, June 23, 2008 from 7-9 PM.
