Obituary of Elaine Venezia

Elaine Venezia Piscataway - Elaine (Leggio) Venezia, 101, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater. Her 100th birthday was celebrated at the Eastern Star Home and was later followed by a family celebration dinner in her honor in Bound Brook. Born and raised in Hartley Delaware, she resided in Raritan, Plainfield and Scotch Plains before settling to Piscataway's Sterling Village in 1990. A homemaker for much of her life, she was also a member of the Piscataway Senior Citizens. Her husband, Samuel died in 1978. She is survived by her two daughters, Theresa Steiner and Janice Michael and her husband, Thomas all of Piscataway and two sisters, Sarah Merrill and Betty Keller. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Peter, Kenneth, Suzanne, Karen, Dana, Darcy and Thomas, and eight great - grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 4- 8 PM in the funeral home.
