John L. Mocharski South Plainfield - John L. Mocharski, 78, died on Friday, February 22, 2008 at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark. Born in Dunmore, PA., John lived in Newark before moving to South Plainfield in 1960. He was employed as a Test Engineer with PSE&G in Maplewood for 38 years, retiring in 1994. During his career John was a member of the PSE&G Bowling team. A recipient of the Purple Heart, John served with U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. John was a highly active member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. He served as an usher for many years, participated as a caller during the Tuesday Night Bingo, and assisted in the Kitchen during the church funstivals, fish dinners and the Special Children's luncheons. In addition he is a former church trustee, past president of the Holy Name Society, a member of the church's Nocturnal Adoration Society as well as the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He is pre-deceased by his parents; Joseph and Anna Mocharski Surviving are his wife Antonia (Enea) of 54 years, 3 daughters; Dianne Seesselberg (William) of South Plainfield, Lauren Harding (Glenn) of Piscataway, & Leslie Wegenroth (Dave) of Duluth, GA, his 2 sons; John R. Mocharski ( Pam) of South Plainfield and James Mocharski (Andrea) of Columbus, OH, and his 2 sisters; Dorothy Lardieri of Timonium, MD, and Joan Groom (Robert) of Sterling Heights, MI. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; Jeffrey & Christopher Seesselberg, John R. Jr. & Michael Mocharski, Mark, Emily, & Glenn Harding, and Veronica & Dominic Wegenroth, and several loving nieces and nephews Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will be held in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the funeral home.
