Obituary of Eugene M. Hagerty

Eugene M. Hagerty South Plainfield, NJ - Eugene M. Hagerty, 86, died on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Staten Island, NY, he had lived in Bloomfield and Piscataway before residing to South Plainfield in 1958. Eugene was honorably discharged from the United States Army after faithfully serving his country during WWII. He graduated from Seton Hall with a BA in Physical Education. Eugene retired in 1988 after many years of employment as a heavy equipment mechanic for International Operating Engineers Local #15 out of New York City. He is predeceased by his brother Edward who died in July of 2010. Eugene leaves behind his loving family; wife Marjorie of fifty-nine years and their children; Patti, Diane and Bob. His four grandchildren; Scott, Joshua, Priyanka and Melanie will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 beginning 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 2-6 PM.
