Obituary of Alfred C. "Chick" Dixon

Alfred C. "Chick" Dixon Edison - Alfred C. "Chick" Dixon, 72, died on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Plainfield Chick resided in South Plainfield for most of his life. For 46 years Mr. Dixon worked as a Chemical Engineer for National Starch in Plainfield. He was a member of the Plainfield Rescue Squad for 25 years and during that time he received several accommodations for his service. He also rode on the South Plainfield Rescue Squad for many years as well. Chick served with the Army during the Korean Conflict and for the past 30 years he has been a member of the Friends of Bill. In addition Chick was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and served as an usher for several years. Surviving are his children; Roseanna Hall Weber and her husband Steve of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Catherine Dixon of Neptune City and Michael Dixon and his wife Linda of Mint Hill, North Carolina, his 4 grandchildren; Sarah, A.J. and Erika Dixon and Vincent Hall, his sister Tracey Morgan of California and his brother Tom Dixon also of California. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a Funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
