Veronica "Roni" Bogart South Plainfield - Veronica "Roni" (Kapelevski) Bogart, 52, passed away on March 14, 2009 at the Center For Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Michael Bogart and the devoted mother to Patrick and Nora Bogart of South Plainfield and the sister of Mary Radford. Roni is pre- deceased by her parents Francis and Mary Kapelevski. Mrs. Bogart was born on August 8, 1956 in London, England. Her family immigrated to New Jersey, settling in Harrison when she was a baby. She attended Holy Cross Grammar School in Harrison and St. Cecilia High School in Kearny. She attended Prospect Hall, a women's two-year college in Florida and graduated with an Associates Degree in Retail Merchandising. During her career, she held management positions at numerous high-volume retail apparel stores in New York. She managed the Lerner's shops at the World Trade Center and on Nassau Street, the Bolton's store on 57th Street, Lerner's on 42nd Street at Grand Central Station, and Chuckle's on Avenue of the Americas. She lived in Kearny for a short time where she worked at the Modern Deli. After moving to South Plainfield, she worked at Designer Bagels in Edison. Most recently, she worked at Bloomingdales in Bridgewater. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 beginning at 10:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 11:30 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Cremation will be held privately Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Memorial donations sent to Sacred Heart School, 1 Sacred Heart Drive, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 would be appreciated.
