Marie "Mary" Blair
Piscataway, NJ - Marie "Mary" (Leavey) Blair, 89, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Brooklyn, Mary has lived in Piscataway since 1946.
Mary retired in 1985 from Shop Rite in Dunellen after twenty years of employment as a cashier. She enjoyed knitting and all the time she spent with her family, especially when they were together at family gatherings. Mary was active with the Sterling Village Senior Community activities.
She is predeceased by her husband Richard who died on August 11, 1963, her son John Blair who died April 20, 2008 and by her two sisters and two brothers.
Mary is survived by her children; Shawn and his wife Carol of Piscataway, Brian and his wife Cynthia of North Plainfield and Karen Weierich and her husband Stephen also of Piscataway and by her daughter-in-law Patricia Blair of Florida. She also leaves behind her sister Eleanor and by her thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 beginning 11:30 AMm in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 4-8 PM and on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607
