Gordon Fladger South Plainfield - Gordon Berkeley Edwin Fladger the only child born to Hattie Belle Mundle Fladger and Berkley Edwin Fladger was born February 11, 1925 in Latta, South Carolina. His eventual return to our creator was October 19, 2007. May God bless and receive his spirit. He loved and married the incomparable Brenda Long Fladger and to this union two children were born; Edwin and Matthew Fladger. Gordon or "Dad", as he was called by many, graduated from St. Emma Military High School. Shortly thereafter he proudly served in the US Army during the Second World War. Always in hot pursuit of education Gordon attended Voorhees Junior College, Rhodes Preparatory, Columbia University, Baruch College and Hunter College. He always had the dream of being a journalist. Gordon worked diligently for 40 years at Time Warner and he loved the arts, especially dance. He founded the American Youth Theatre and Kinetic Energy Dance Troupe, and also served as chairperson for NJ Cultural Arts Commission of South Plainfield. His passion for life was passed on to countless youths through his involvement and commitments to the theatrical arts. He will forever live and rest in the hearts of all who cared and embraced him. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
